چکیده
We study the characteristic exponents of the Hamiltonian system of n (≥ 2) point masses m1, . . . , mn freely falling in the vertical half line {q| q ≥ 0} under constant gravitation and colliding with each other and the solid floor q = 0 elastically. This model was introduced and first studied by M. Wojtkowski. Hereby we prove his conjecture: All relevant characteristic (Lyapunov) exponents of the above dynamical system are nonzero, provided that m1 ≥ · · · ≥ mn (i. e. the masses do not increase as we go up) and m1 6= m2.

The possibility to study intermittency in a single event of high multiplicity is investigated in the framework of the α−model. It is found that, for cascade long enough, the dispersion of intermittency exponents obtained from individual events is fairly small. This fact opens the possibility to study the distribution of the intermittency parameters characterizing the cascades seen (by observing...

We derive recursive equations for the characteristic numbers of rational nodal plane curves with at most one cusp, subject to point conditions, tangent conditions and flag conditions, developing techniques akin to quantum cohomology on a moduli space of stable lifts.

We discuss the construction of the spectral curve and the action integrals for the " elliptic " XY Z spin chain of the length Nc. Our analysis can reflect the integrable structure behind the " elliptic " N = 2 supersymmetric QCD with N f = 2Nc .

The critical behavior of the λφ scalar field theory is investigated as a function of the final renormalization group transformation block size k−1 o and critical temperature β −1 c . We demonstrate how the dimensionless finite-size scaling variable β̄c = βcko determines whether the three-dimensional (β̄c ≪ 1) or four-dimensional (β̄c ≫ 1) fixed point governs the phase transition. The effective β̄c-...

We calculate the spin dependent structure function of the polarized virtual pho-ton g γ 1 (x, Q 2 , p 2), especially its hadronic part, using the OPE in the inverse powers of the target photon virtuality. Some model is accepted to achieve a correct analytical behaviour in the photon squared mass. This enables extrapolation to the case of a real photon.
